Naturally Chiropractic in Tynemouthannounces

A few months ago, Estelle was contemplating that, as a chiropractor, she spent a lot of time getting to know her clients. Although many come to the practice with a physical complaint, it's important to investigate and understand the underlying causes.

All sorts of environmental and lifestyle pressures can increase the feeling of being unwell – work stress, over-tired, deskbound, sports or eating something that our bodies simply don't tolerate.

Chiropractic treatment can be designed with these considerations in mind. Estelle says "I realised I was referring people to online information that would help guide them forward but was rarely confident with what I was seeing. Then I had an idea... it seems simple now, but a website that I can happily refer people to was the way to go."

So here we are with Living Naturally, a resource for clients, friends and extended family. The new website will be organic and continually growing. There are three sections that will help you eat, move and think your way to better health. We hope you find it useful – and will take the time to get involved. If you have a story to share or find a great recipe that fits with our ethos, please send it in. We'd love contributions and ideas.
Stand up!
To get things started, we would like to talk to you about the importance of movement and, in particular, standing up. Many of the people who come to us at Naturally Chiropractic for treatment, do so as they work in offices or are obliged to sit for long periods of time. If you are having problems that you think may be caused because of your working environment, drop into the practice for an assessment.
Whether you are working in an office or relaxing at home, new research has confirmed that the best thing you can do is stand up. Long hours sitting down can play a significant role in the development of chronic disease. Growing evidence also suggests that simply sitting can be a risk factor for poor health and premature death even if you exercise regularly. Take a look at our suggestions for making your days more mobile.
Eat well...
Eating healthily is as much about what you can do for yourself as we what we can to for you. This chocolate-apricot slice shows how easy it is to eat well yet still treat yourself. It's unprocessed, uses natural ingredients and is full of vitamins – good for kids and good for you.
Ingredients: 2 cups desiccated coconut, 1 cup dried apricots,
1 tablespoon honey, 2 tablespoons cacao or cocoa, 1/2 teaspoon concentrated natural vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
Instructions: Turn on your food processor and – in the order listed – drop in all the ingredients and whizz until well combined. Be careful not to turn it to mush, a little texture is good. Press the mix into a lined tray and set in the fridge overnight before slicing.
